Just wondering what everyone's favorite movie is?? I have not been to the movie theatre in a while. Well actually I went to see Scooby Doo. That was ok, it was not the best, but it was cool. Does anyone recommend seeing a movie, or not recommend seeing a movie?? Just wondering.

DJ Fluck,
Don't let them take away your stapler.
I've seen so many movies its hard to pick my favorite but I saw True Lies on TV the other night so I pick that one.
If anyone watches Disney, those movies are alright but they seem to be on when nothing else is and they trap you in and you see the same ones many times.

Top Gun is definately a classic movie. Everytime I go up north I watch it. We have a trailer up north, and a whole bunch of land that we are growing trees on. When i go up there, I feel like a farm girl...LOL. Back to the future is definately a classic too.

I would say that it's either Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0120737), Star Wars, Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0080684), or perhaps Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0113820).

Blade 2...hmmm...well i just have to say that when my team went to MMR, on thursday night, the 12 of us, i think it was 12, the lucky one's who got to go a day early, we went to go see blade 2. Now I have never seen blade so first of all it made no sense. Second of all it had no point. Some of the scenes were cool with special effects and stuff like that, but oh my...not the best movie. There was only one person out of our whole group who actually liked it. Oh yeah, I was sitting next to Ricky, or some of you know him as Falco269, and he fell asleep...so...sorry Ricky, had to say it...LOL

Here's my laundry list. . . this is Miss-America style; as in, in no particular order.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - for it's fun, multi-tiered story and fantastic music and score.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - for much the same.
The Neverending Story - For making a laudable effort at approximating the novel, and for just rocking all over.
Moulin Rouge - for having Nicole Kidman, reinterpreted songs, and awesome cinematography and set design
10 Things I Hate About You - for being the absolute best 'teen' movie ever.
Pay It Forward - for being a fantastic idea, and a wrenching movie.
12 Monkeys - for making you think. Brad Pitt is cool, too.
Jurassic Park - for the simple 'wow' factor. It's still amazing, nearly 10 years later. Wow, I'm old.

Ahhhh...This is easy. My number one rated flick:
'Lawrence of Arabia' (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0056172)
It must be seen on a really big screen to be appreciated. The scene, some thirty minutes into the movie, where Sherif Ali Ibn El Kharish (Omar Sharif) rides out of the sweltering desert to arrive at his well is pretty stunning.
Okay, my favorite flicks released semi-recently include 'Almost Famous' (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0181875), 'American Beauty' (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0169547), and, of course, who doesn't dig 'The Matrix' (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0133093).

The Iron Giant and Mulan are the best animated movies ever made.
Starship Troopers has one of the greatest action sequences ever filmed. It would be better though if they took out all the dialogue and any scene where someone's not getting maimed. And I still belive that ST got absoluteley ROBBED of the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects in 1997 or whatever.

im not that great when it comes to rating movies, mostly because i prefer to read the book before the movie, and that usually ruins it. however some of favorite movies include:
the alien trilogy (the others shouldnt count)
Indiana jones (so much better than james bond)
the shining
IT (yes, "IT")
the matrix
jurassic park (only the first)
jaws
the mummy
rumble in the bronx (best of jackie chan)
ET
black hawk down (the most gory movie ever)
but my favorite movie of all was Armaggedon
and if you you want my recomendation of future movies, i think that "Red Dragon" will be very good because the book was great. Watch out for a surprise ending!

Labyrinth, The Usual Suspects, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, War of the Buttons, Billy Elliot, The Cat From Outerspace (okay, it's pretty bad, but the cat's cute!), Nightbreed, Schindler's List, Trainspotters, Top Secret...
Except for Nightbreed, this doesn't even touch the cheesy horror movies I have a fondness for.

The most frightening thing about all of this is that I'd guess more than half of these movies were released after, say, 1995.
We've been making movies for 80+ years, people!
With that in mind, I'd like to append The Wizard of Oz, The Birds, and Earthquake to my list. This ought to do some to keep the universe in balance.

lol, but michael, you forget one thing. most of us are still in high school, which makes it about '95 that we first started getting into movies. sure, we might happen across an old movie (say the birds), but it's much more likely that we won't. star wars (IV, V, & VI) are the only ones i can think that every has seen, but that's about all.

I saw it Friday night. It was okay, but no where as cool as MIB 1. I personally thought it wasn't that good at all, not very funny, not as much action, etc. For example, at the end of MIB 1 when the MIB are fighting the bug, nothing that interesting happens in MIB 2.
