This is my first year in this. Can someone explain the rules reguarding the draft. Like how long you have to pick a team and what happens if a person doesnt pick in that anount of time?

It isn't really the next round, just when they get a shot to get on, they come and pick a team that hasn't yet been picked. It has worked out alright in other FF threads this season, but ultimately it is up to the powers that be to make the desicion. I do however prefer this method but thats just my two cents.

I also think that letting a person pick their own team whenever would be the way to go. Since we have a time schedule this year, people know when they are up and if they miss it I think that they will be able to get back to it. People will know if they will not be around for their time slot and can send a list to the appropriate person(s). And then someone doesn't have to constantly watch the thread to put a team in when someone doesn't make their time slot. It would make it fair to everyone and would be easier for those running the draft.

I have seen both of those before...but only know what EST (Easstern Standard Time) means...please enlighten me about EDT.

EDT stands for Eastern Daylight Time. Its the same as eastern standard time except now were on daylight savings time.

Not exactly. Right now it is 9:36 EDT and 8:36 EST. It's also 7:36 CST and 8:36 CDT.

EST is Eastern Standard time and is UTC (the time not the FIRST sponsor) - 5 hours, used when we are on standard time. EDT is Eastern Daylight time and is UTC - 4 hours, used when we are on Daylight Saving Time.

It wouldn't make much of a difference except that there are some crazy Indianans who do not observe Daylight Saving Time, so the whole year they are on CST. However, when interfacing with the rest of the world, in the summer they have to use EDT, since no one gives times in CST then.

Seeing as how there is a large contingent of Indianans on CD, we should try to keep them happy and use the correct times ;)

gee that situation seems a little..cough cough, familar. Well theres not much we can really do about this, its just one of those events that just happen. But that makes 3 of us that agree.

Lil' Lavery has the right idea. Seeing that Jimmy had a time slot before Billy, he isn't screwing Billy over by picking one minute before him. Jimmy is just out of luck if someone picked the team he wanted between 3:30 and 4:04 because he eitehr forgot about the draft or decided to come a little later. So I think this is the most fair way of doing something like this.

This does require Jones571 and/or Koko Ed to find the time slots for the given people that have sent them their lists and make sure they post it in the time slot. But if Koko Ed wants to put a random team in for that person at the end of their time slot, I would play along with it without any complaints.

Right now...by my clock it is 5:28 PM...so look at the time stamp on my post and that should tell you when you're pick is. All picks are based off the Eastern whatever time that matches my clock. So Ryan's pick is up in approximately 10 minutes (though he can pick before then).
