Hi,
I'm from team 359 and we're experimenting with different drivetrains, unfortunatly we're using a 2003 controller. Can anyone help me out in getting started with the old stuff? Which program do I use to program all the basic functions, etc?

If not, can someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

You'll need PBasic.

I believe it used to be available on IFI's site, but I don't know about now.

Most of what you need can be found here:
http://www.ifirobotics.com/first-legacy.shtml
The default code with drive capability and the Editor that also downloads the code is available there, as well as documentation that describes what you need to know to get started.

under Documentation for 2001 - 2003

Another useful site is:
http://www.parallax.com
In particular:
http://www.parallax.com/html_pages/downloads/software/software_basic_stamp.asp
for the latest Editor
and
http://www.parallax.com/html_pages/downloads/basicstamps/documentation_basic_stamp.asp
for in-depth PBasic user guides.
