My first thought: "Finally!!"

Ricky is one of the few people I've known my entire FIRST career, and is definitely one of the most dedicated; to his team, to promoting FIRST in his state, and to furthering the mission of FIRST.

Congratulations, Ricky! :D

Congratulations Ricky! It's obvious that you are an example of how this wonderful program creates adults who not only appreciate science and technology, but who also understands the value of "giving back."

Ricky,
Congratulations dude! I have been privileged to know Rick and watch one of FIRST's bright stars move up through high school and on to bigger and better things. Put Rick on your "must meet" list. Not only a really great guy but funny, too!

Awwww! Congratulations Ricky! With everything you do, from mentoring your team, to helping to make the WI regional happen, what a well deserved award!!!!! :D

This is definitely well deserved. Ricky is one of the brightest up-and-coming stars in FIRST. I always enjoy seeing Ricky at FIRST events, and have been impressed with him under various situations. We've yelled at each other, celebrated together, and depended on each other in tight spots.

Ricky is one of those few people who is looked up to by peers who are students and adults. He is sincere, diligent, gutsy and genuine.

Here's to Ricky Q!

Respectfully,
Andy Baker

Congratulations dude!

This past year I got to know Ricky at the Greater Toronto Regional. He flew all the way in from Wisconsin to volunteer at the event. He was the onfield technical support for the Pontiac field and he kept the field running smoothly. That same weekend, I invited Ricky to help out with the Team 1114 Friday night strategy session. Ricky showed a vast amount of FIRST knowlegde, and was a great help to us.

Ricky, you deserve this award. But I'd still rather pick a roomba. ;)

Congrats Luis. Next time I see you, I'll be sure to toast you with a glass of milk and a slice of cheese. Or maybe just some 'Ricky Sandwiches' ....

Ricky is the man. When I first heard about him, or saw him at competitions, I thought he was as college mentor -- that's the type of attitude, dedication, and leadership he was able to portay, as a high school student. Now, as a college mentor, on the regional planning committe for Wisconsin, etc., he has stepped it up a notch, and continues to be a role model for everybody.

Congrats Ricky, I don't know where our team would be without you.

I always kind of funny that I would recieve lectures from another one of our awesome mentors, Laurie Vertz, as to how Ricky can get a place to stay anywhere in the United States just by calling up someone he's friends with thru FIRST. Now I see just how true this is.

Congratulations Ricky.

I cant remember the first time i met Ricky or even the firs time I really talked to him. Like alot of the Midwest FIRST people, it seems like he has always been a fixture and it's hard for me to imagine FIRST without a guy like Ricky. Always able to make me laugh, always fun to talk robots with, and a really great guy on top of everything else. He really cares about FIRST, his team, and his friends, and he is definately someone I would call an Unsung FIRST Hero! Congrats RICKY!

Ricky is, indeed, the man.

Congrats buddy!

EDIT: Despite being on the other end of the field during the IRI finals in 2004, I must say that was one of my favorite FIRST moments as well. Those matches were among the most thrilling I've ever had the privilege of participating in.

Congratulations Ricky!!

Anyone who can work under JVN in the craziness of GTR truly deserves to be a UFH!! lol.

Wow. Just wow. I am very humbled by this honor. Many have said it before, but when I go to the UFH honoree page and see myself among the many others who have been honored before I find it hard to believe that I belong there.

I just want to say thank you to those who nominated me, and those who replied above. The people are the biggest reason that I love FIRST, you all make it special for me and make me want to work even harder.

When I first got involved in this program I knew it was something special, and I continue to realize that more and more each day I interact with FIRST. There are no words to express the impact this program has on individuals.

Thanks to everyone! :)

Congratulations Ricky! Always great to read about more awesome people in the FIRST community which have the drive and passion that I can affiliate with. I will hopefully run into you in person some time and get to know you better.
