...I'm not sure I understand. Are we supposed to name all the millions of unfortunately uninformed people? (any explanation would be dandy....)

Wow... um... weird. I'm speechless... I don't understand.
I personally, don't know anyone that I have talked to that doesn't know about FIRST.

I'm sorry but I just don't "get it." This seems like a pointless thread. I can't see this being fun for anyone or valuable to anyone, so I wouldn't mind if I saw it closed/deleted.
EDIT: I guess I get it now (thanks Ken). Carry on...

I know some cattlemen who have been steered in the direction of FIRST so I'm totally useless in this thread.
Edit: They house our trailer for us. If they know about FIRST, word is getting around, trust me.

Nebraska
Man I would hate to be from the last state that still doesnt have a FIRST team
and have a name like "Nebraskins" become synomonous with people who dont catch on till the very end
like the Luddites - what a legacy !

Is this supposed to be the analogue of muggles in the Harry Potter world?

in the HP books people either had it or they didnt - an Us and Them thing
in FIRST we were all Them at some point, now we are Us
and there is nothing stopping Them from becoming Us - so I think the connotation is different
