Guess the number of pages in the 2007 manual:
Rules:

No decrypting the manual...(duh)
No saying the same answer as someone else the original post gets the prize
If you are over the actual count...you're out
The person closest to the actual amount will win...something
Sorry Dave (dLavery)...you can't guess (we're all pretty sure you already know the answer).
You can guess multiple times (up to 5) and all count towards "winning"

I think it is pretty self explanatory. Any questions feel free to PM me.

Deadline is 8am EST Saturday, January 6, 2007

My guess: 170 or 281 pages. (I'll put my logic later).

Since there is the time limit rule:
If you play with the font long enough, you can make it any size you want, teehee
Defaults perferably
Can we use previous years manuals as a guessing point?
Are you asking about a specific section of the manual or the whole manual including all sections.
Yes you can use previous manuals and what is not encrypted in this years.

The whole manual.
Are we printing single sided or double sided?

Or just adding the numbers on the last page of each section together?

When you look at the bottom of Adobe "Page 1 of 9" or something, so 9 would be the count for that section.

362.

that's right folks, three hundred and sixty two.

My reasoning? typing wildly on the number pad, and picking the last three numbers I entered.

Hoo-rah!

150 Pages - Reason Different Fonts, Sizes and everything should be Double Spaced =)

I know it don't make sense

Why?

I dunno...

Dim i as Long
For i = 1 to 5
MsgBox "The lucky number is " & CLng(Rnd * 250)
Next

Yeah, I should get with the times and learn how to do this in C++, but....I'm lazy.

Also: 42, 101, 190, and the ever infamous bid of $1!

* This is the price it would cost to print out one game manual at Staples. Depending on how many pages there are - e.g. bulk discounts, if they are color or not, if I want the manual bound or stapled, and if I can call friends who can use their employee discounts, $1 represents an exact number of pages yet to be determined. :p

Section 5 - 26
Section 6 - 8
Section 7 - 13
Section 8 - 29
Section 9 - 9
Section 10 - 4
KOP Inventory - 22

Giving a result of: 174.

And the winner is...
174
I will contact you via PM or IM shortly to discuss prize details.

Questions, Comments, Concerns or suspect a math error, please PM me and I will reevaluate.

Here's the logic behind my guess:

Unencrypted manual size and pages:
9 = 138 = 15.3
8 = 167 = 20.875
20 = 302 = 15.1
22 = 339 = 15.409

Approx = 16.671 kb/p

Sections left using above ratio:
2.3393917581428828504588806910203
3.4191110311319057045168256253374
4.6187991122308199868034311079119
42.648911283066402735288824905525
44.74836542498950272929038450003
52.366384739967608421810329314378
61.364045348209465538959870433687
69.941815128066702657309099634095

281.44682382580529062443764621196

281...then picked a number from 1-150 (111, to fluctuate for graphics and loss of encryption) giving a final answer of 170)

***So close, I could of given my self a prize!***
