Team 1757 stays awake during some of the long days by blasting our mp3 players through a pair of old and junked computer speakers. Does anyone else do the same? By now we have come to a general concensus of what constitutes good build-season music - I want to know what your favorite artists or tracks are to play in the lab. Show off your indy cred!
I'll start with a sampling of the Team 1757 build-season soundtrack:
The Raconteurs
- Level
- Steady As She Goes
The Black Keys
- 10am Automatic
OK Go
- A Million Ways
- It's a Disaster
Beck
- E-Pro
- Girl
- Where it's At
- Black Tambourine
Barenaked Ladies
- Brian Wilson
- Who Needs Sleep
Bloc Party
- Helicopter
- Banquet
- Hunting For Witches
LCD Soundsystem
- Daft Punk Is Playing At My House
- Tribulations

This year, we managed not to blow out the speakers too often
but we listened to a lot of:
-Daft Punk
-Strokes
-Gym Class Heroes
-Incubus
-Red Hot Chilli Peppers
we listened to a lot of different types of music, and had a lot of battles on who's Ipod to plug in, but those are the bands I rememeber we played A LOT of.

We mostly listened to Metallica, Pantera, Trivium, Dragonforce. The mentors weren't too pleased with that. Also thrown in were Black Sabbath, Styx, Journey, Tom Petty, and Aerosmith.

Um... everyone gets annoyed when I play music. So that's why I do it. However, only on Tuesday nights... that's the only night I was able to meet.
With that said... I played:
Cradle of Filth
Dragonforce
Demon Hunter
Bullet for my Valentine
I Killed the Prom Queen
HIM
Among many others... it's good that the kids mostly like that music.

Fort Minor
Linkin Park
Smash Mouth

I like how you put the "but only that one song!" caveat on your MCR mention - I think it's a good sign for the music world that you felt you had to.
edit: I can't help ascribing my music taste (which I consider to be flawless because it's my music taste - a vicious cycle) to the rest of the world. Please don't get too mad that I really dislike MCR...
Mad props to artdutra04 for kickin' it to Reel Big Fish and Streetlight Manifesto (two of my favorite bands in the ska scene). Looks like you'd be well-liked on team 1757.

You shouldn't go a build season without some Benassi, Van Buuren, and Tiesto.
