I know that 675 and 48 will be staying at the Marriott Marquis, but is anybody else? I want to know so that if I see tons of roboticists at the hotel I'm at I won't be surprised.

Thanks. I knew that thread was there, but It's morning (and I'm lazy) so I figured I'd just make it simpler.

Now to just get some more info on those teams and print up a sheet for my coach so he knows as well.

also it is the location of any FIRST volunteers who booked rooms (hence my room).

We'll be arriving in Atlanta at around 4 or 5 as well from Phoenix.

With this many teams at the Marquee, and the amount at the nearby Hyatt, Westin, and Hilton, maybe we should have a massive robotics-raid of the Peachtree Center Mall? The Marquee and Hyatt are attached to it by a tunnel, and the Hilton and Westin are a very short walk away.

I would say we should do something huge in the hotel, but when our team played tag with a group of other teams in the Hyatt in '04 security got called us. They were nice enough to open a meeting center at basement level for us though.

I didn't even know it got moved to the Marquee, I thought it was still at the Hyatt.

Either way I was looking for something a little more random. I'm sure some silly game will end up being started on Friday night, have a 150 people join it, then suddenly get killed by something stupid like a ball flying over a fence.

Anyone up for the cup game? We didn't do it at AZ this year (partially due to the lack of tables), I could do with a getting a big game of that going again.

Ironically, I am currently staying in the M&M New York (Times square)..

There are 16 elevators, serving ~50 floors. When you enter the ring of elevators, you enter your floor number, and it tells you which elevator to get on. There are no buttons inside; The elevator simply takes you where you need to go.

Okay, so Kyle and I thought we were staying at the Marquis - actually.. we are in the cheaper Marriott closer to the competition - the Marriott Atlanta Downtown. Cheaper - but closer. Awesome.

OK, so what seemed like all 30+ teams at the Marquis just simultaneously gathered in the atrium on whatever floor they were are on and started screaming at the top of their lungs - kinda a last hurrah for everyone. 48 was in their team meeting at the time. We saw the security guys making the rounds soon after.....kinda crazy.

Too bad, some team apparently was dropping Water bottles off that floor, and got the elevators basically shut down. Still good times though.
