Car Nack has been very, very busy herding his camels.

#1. No hurdle will ever be scored in the hybrid portion of the game.

Car Nack has spoken.

Agreed. Unless 71 or 111 does it.:D

Hmm.

Isn't Car Nack Mr. Bill Beatty?

I'm not leaving 1114 out of the 111 and 71 options! I don't know Car Nack, I think you might be underestimating on this one... ;)

According to their CD profiles Mr. Bill Beatty is from Hammond, Indiana and the great Car Nack is from the Endless Sands. I would say they are different people.

Everyone knows Car Nack is Johnny Carson! So the question as to Who is Car Nack is one of those that should never be asked. John Galt is OK, though.

Why would you want to hurdle in Hybrid? What is the scoring benefit over just running?

You've done a feat that's ridiculously hard and also has some chance built into it. Regardless of how well you do in the eliminations, you've engineered and built one helluva robot.

I'm suspecting Car Nack is right on this one. In order to do it, you'd have to locate and knock down your own ball (8), capture it, take it across the opponents finish line to render the ball "live" for hurdling (crossing your own finish line, both lane dividers, and your opponents finish line to get back to hurdling position (4 points per line x4 lines)), and complete the hurdle (8) in under 15 seconds. If you could do it, it'd be worth 32 points if you just finished the hurdle, and 36 if you could also get across the finish line before time ran out.

Anyone who manages it should get a standing ovation and some kind of award.

I think it will happen once, with many failed attempts, at IRI.

Its not going to happen...

Strategy wise, its a waste of time

I think Car Nack is daring teams to try!

I believe that a hurdle like the double keeper shall never be scored in a regional, possibly at the championship finals, but will most likely happen at IRI. When it does happen the video of the act will spread through the first world like a wildfire and someone will be thinking hmmmz... Car Nack was wrong.

Thanks, that was my point. Maybe our math is wrong but it sounds like a lot of extra work for little reward.

Now I can see it being the prize at IRI.

Sorry for the giant bump, but this board is tiny anyway-did it happen? I didn't really follow IRI...

1114 came the closest at some point. They accidentally captured one of their own knocked-down trackballs and were either in position to hurdle or had gone under the overpass at the end of hybrid. I forget when it happened, though.

Car Nack still gets this one.
