I was bored so I created an emoticon with safety glasses.

Its a bit bigger than the other ones here, but maybe Brandon will decide to use it.

This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen in ChiefDelphi.

2 thumbs up.

Can you make one without safety glasses who is bleeding from the eye (wear your glasses, kids!), or is that a bit macabre for a family forum?

:yikes:

Those are huge safety glasses. Any smaller versions that poor smiley can obtain?

Chief Pride

Everyone seemed to want an opposite of the "Safe" emoticon. So I tried to make one, what do you think about this?

Nice, says what it is without any gore, now if these are just available as basic smileys everywhere

A bit off topic, but I am a bit proud of that one, they decided to use it at Atlanta this year. I wrote nearly the entire thing at the inspectors table in Detroit.

Continuing on the off-topic, that program saved our robot in elims on Galileo. We had a radio go out, and had to find a replacement, run to pits, program it, run back and install it all in our time-out window. Without your program, we might not have made it.

Next year, please ask first to set up a laptop in the middle of the arena floor with this program for these last minute emergencies!

Thanks!

Also, very cool smileys. I like the forehead protector idea too.

Jane requested a RTM smilie... So heres a start... Suggestions?

IKE
04-28-2009, 07:00 AM
Take the confused guy::confused: Then slide a page that says RULES up in front to cover its face, and then replace with a :) or possible a :) with a lightbulb on top or even a :ahh: . any of those would work well.

Chief Pride
04-28-2009, 07:06 AM
Yeah, that would be a lot better... I'll see what I can do.

IKE
04-28-2009, 07:41 AM
Ah, the one you posted before came up and looks nice too.

JaneYoung

If you took the RTM smiley that you have posted and had a page turn in the book, that might be cool. The suggestion that Ike made having the smiley change from confused to happy is a neat idea also. Very neat.

Thank you for working on this, James.

Love IT!

By the way, is your pic from the Detroit Zoo Praire Dog exhibit?

P.S. I got this note:

"You must spread some Reputation around before submitting again for Chief Pride. "

Chief Pride

Ah! Thanks IKE.

Actually, it is from the Prairie dog exhibit... I went there with my metal shop class in 11th grade when I lived in warren. Still not really sure why the metal shop went on a field trip to the Zoo...

JaneYoung

I think it works. It will be good to see it in action in a post to see.

Thanks again, James. Ditto on the rep thing... *going off to spread some*

Ok *sigh*...

Is there a way to add the light bulb over the smiley when it smiles?

Sad face ->

rules/reading ->

rules down smile up *bing* light bulb ->

aha!

or is that too complicated?

Chief Pride
04-29-2009, 12:23 PM
Nope, I just completely forgot about the lightbulb!

Thanks

EDIT: I Can't seem to find a place to put the lightbulb... How are these?

JaneYoung
04-29-2009, 01:16 PM
Haha, I just chuckled out loud so that's a good sign.

Light bulbs that I've seen are at the top of the head so the first one works for me.

Chief Pride

I was just about to send this to Brandon, then shrunk it down to the forum size.... Not sure its going to work...

So I have changed the book emoticon aswell... Maybe i'll have to make a poll.

Maybe i'll have to make a poll.

That's a good idea.

Maybe the book without the light bulb... I dunno.

But the poll is a good idea.

I vote for the 2nd one showing the figure holding the book, but with a couple changes (without the light bulb, & animating the eyes to continuously scan back & forth).

The first version is great too, but it lost something (or perhaps just seemed too busy to me?) when it was resized & the book title became so small.

ok, so this (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=862514&postcount=20) post by AndyB made me think of a new smiley...

one that is holding a fire extinguisher for magic smoke.

I really should stop thinking about smileys, I laugh too much as it is.

I prefer the first one with the rules book. The second has too much going on in it and it's not animated.

Good job on the emoticons James!

Do we get to have one?
