Hello all!

I have been designing a custom two speed gearbox, and I have a question regarding the dimensions of the bimba cylinders.

What is the total length of this bimba cylinder while fully retracted? Fully extended?

Hello all!

I have been designing a custom two speed gearbox, and I have a question regarding the dimensions of the bimba cylinders.

What is the total length of this bimba cylinder while fully retracted? Fully extended?
http://www.andymark.com/product-p/am-0292.htm

What exactly is the difference between these two bimba cylinders?
http://www.andymark.com/product-p/am-0292.htm
http://www.andymark.com/product-p/am-0591.htm

Does the latter maintain an extended position when no air is pumped into the cylinder? If so, can the spring-style cylinder be used as a fail safe, in the event that the pneumatic system ruptures or the robot is undergoing a stall load situation?

Thanks everyone!

Hello All,

Ben here, from Enable. You may remember me from some FRCMastery.com LabVIEW training videos called the “Tip Jar” which our company did for previous seasons.

For this past season, we worked with FIRST to provide the interactive FRC Game Manual, and the iOS app. We also partnered with App Delegates to provide an Android App.

We’re planning our improvements for next season, and would love your feedback.

If you can spare 2 minutes (And I know you can, because the season’s over and you’re STILL on Chief Delphi :)), please fill out the survey here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/L9F25YQ.

And, of course, feel free to comment in this thread.

Thanks,
Ben

Now to see who takes up on Bomb Squand and ATA's strategies, and see who dives for a wide feeder bot first. Is it too risky to take a feeder as a first pick, and a shooter as a second? At any other competition it would be, but with such a deep field, you might be able to take the gamble and pay off big. Any predictions on super alliances yet? I'm feeling 1114+469+2826+someone as the champs. After a strong performance on Archimedes, 1114 was plagued by bad luck on Einstein and walked away with a single gold (But kept an eye on the big prize) and are itching for redemption. As their first pick, their old friends 469 will be more than willing to bring their super sonic shooter to the courts. 2826, after falling to 1114 in three intense matches on Archimedes, will prove to be the decisive third pick. They're good, but with such a deep field, may fall short on the seeding.

Though, I'm really a 2056 fan, and would absolutely love to see them win IRI for a second year in a row. I think that with seeding 2nd on Archimedes, and with the crazy upset they pulled over 1114 at GTRWest F1, they could put together an alliance to upset what I previously predicted. Gotta stay faithful to the team I love.

Dear FRC Teams,

Please allow me to update you on our examination of the Championship final rounds.

As part of the examination, FIRST will evaluate the field and all robots that were on Einstein as a complete system—a system as comparable as possible to what existed at Championship. We have received and reassembled the Einstein field equipment at headquarters in Manchester, and we are in the process of retesting its functionality. In addition, we are asking each of the twelve teams that competed on Einstein to (1) allow FIRST to ship their robot to Manchester, (2) provide an adult representative to be present for testing, and (3) provide detailed systems information, including driver station logs and robot code. Each of the teams has acted with the utmost grace and professionalism, and for that we are truly grateful.

We also recognize that many of you have important information to share about your experiences this year. Thank you to those who have passed along such information in response to my April 29th e-mail. To make that process easier, we have set up an e-mail for you to share your experiences and expertise: 2012FRCfeedback@usfirst.org. Please know that while all of your feedback will be reviewed and considered, FIRST will not be able to respond to every e-mail.

We are also investigating the issues on Einstein with independent, outside experts as well as respected leaders in the FIRST community. We remain steadfastly committed to understanding the root causes of the issues and resolving them. I will continue to report our process, progress and eventually the findings of the examination.

Sincerely,

Jon

Would the number of wheels make a difference?
Thanks in advance,
