What are attachments?
CD-Media is set up so that you can type your white paper right into it. Sometimes you may need to attach a file, however, like an Excel worksheet, or graphic of some sort. You can also replace files if the white paper has been updated, without losing the discussion thread or other information. You could also upload multiple versions of a file. Some scoring software is sometimes uploaded into three separate white papers (one for each version .. html, flash, etc.) -- now, you can add them all to one white paper.

Do I have to attach a file to a white paper?
No -- you could put the entire contents of the paper in the text box provided when adding a white paper. The attachments are there for anything extra that may be necessary (code, Excel documents, etc).

Why wouldn't I just attach my Word document, rather than typing/pasting it into CD-Media?
If your document is typed or pasted into CD-Media, it is fully searchable. Attached files in CD-Media aren't currently searched when you search CD-Media -- just their titles, excerpts, and descriptions.
