[OCCRA]: Corrupted Cortex?
Day of competition and I was loading the code onto the robot for the final tests. Everything downloaded but the switch simulator failed to start up. I redownloaded the code and everything finished correctly. When we turned the robot on, all lights green and whole robot is connected, BUT, robot does nothing. I am going to reset and reinstall the firmware on the cortex and controllers but does anyone think there is a problem other than corrupted master code?
![]() This happened 4 hours ago so I am having a hard time remembering what happened but I vaguely remember people were tinkering with controls and batteries while code was downloading. Last edited by Ross3098 : 10-27-2011 at 11:56 AM. |

Re: [OCCRA]: Corrupted Cortex?
We had this same problem at Royal Oak, everything connected but nothing worked. Our issue was our 12 volt battery held a surface charge of 13.1 but when we put a load on it, it dropped to 8.7. The same problem could be happening with the cortex battery also.
Try coming up with a way to check your batteries under load. |

Re: [OCCRA]: Corrupted Cortex?
For the Cortex the following conditions MUST be true:
1. Both the cortex and controller MUST be using the same version of Firmware 2. The Cortex and Controller MUST be "Married" via the USB AA tether 3. The Cortex MUST have a charged battery 7.2 or higher. 4. The controller MUST have good batteries. The first light MUST be green. 5. Starting sequence MUST be followed: Cortex, Blinky lights on Cortex, Key must be in or Comp Cable plugged in, Power Adapter or turn on controller. Breaking the sequence or on/off out of order, pulling power connector, and other interruptions will cause the system NOT to link or not operate correctly. I am also seeing teams with EasyC programming issues. If all lights are good and no control look at the "While Loop" - first line of your code...is it set correct? Also look at the PWM wires are they in the slot? Contact me if you still have problems. |
