Central Washington Recap/Thanks

*Disclaimer: My opinions do not necessarily reflect the views held by Skunkworks Robotics Team 1983 and it is certainly not my intent to leave anyone out, offend or otherwise harm anyone in the process. Also, I have alumn friends and coworkers from nearly all the teams mentioned below and it was fun to share this regional experience with them

First I would like to congratulate 2046 on yet another Chairmanís award. Girls Gen. certainly drove your pitch home

Iíd also like to congratulate 2910 on their Engineering Inspiration award. We will be glad to travel with them to champs this year. Best of luck on Chairmanís next week!

A congratulation in is order to Madison from 488 on what Iím sure is a long overdue WFFA! *Also Happy Birthday!

1318 Was great in Oregon and were absolutely on fire in Ellensburg. They showed that they could score well and coordinate well with others. It is unfortunate that this highly capable machine wonít be debuting on the championship stage.

If I had to pick my favorite robot from this regional, Iíd choose 948. They may be the single best full-court shooter in the world. Once down at the feeder station, they had an extreme accuracy which was hard to stop, even when blocking. Iím certainly looking forward to playing with them again next week in Seattle.

ON THE FIELD:

In the competitive arena we saw plenty of great teams and we were thankful that we got to play with and against some of the best.
360, 2557 and 3789 were amazing today as usual. 360 and 2557 both showed some amazing play in Oregon and were even better this weekend. It was exciting to see two teams who have a history of friendship get together in eliminations <3. 3789 was a solid addition to their alliance and they wouldnít have been able to do it without them! This alliance nearly won the regional and these teams definitely showed that they had strong robots which deserve to continue play at the world level.

Iíd be remiss if I didnít thank the alliance members who made this regional win possible. Iíd like to thank 1425 for selecting us and 753 to play with them. Itís been a long time since our regional win with Error Code in our rookie year (2007) and it was fun to play alongside their extraordinary scoring machine. 753 has been good for years, but for as long as I can remember, they have been always on the verge of a regional win. Their solid Auto, defense and all around gameplay made our alliance what it was. Together putting up 10 discs, we scored 60 points in auto at our best! Our alliance high score of the day hit 202 thanks to this.

We had a rough start as we got our robot together on Friday and had Field Tech/ Comm. issues on Saturday, so we canít thank our alliance enough for being with us every step of the way.

Thanks again to all the teams, sponsors and volunteers for a successful first FIRST event at Central Washington University!
We look forward to seeing old and new friends in the upcoming events in Seattle and Spokane.

P.S.
-Quick Shout-outs to our friends on Mean Machine 2471 for cheering us on, we look forward to seeing you in Spokane!
-To Trent from 987, weíre glad you came and hung with us! If youíll be joining our team again in Seattle or Spokane, pm me your shirt size

Looooooonnnnngggg overdue! And deserved about fifty times over, too!

Mind you, I almost wish it had waited one more week, so I could have been there to cheer too.

Looking forward to Seattle.

Thanks, Navid.

We (948) were very impressed with the amount your robot improved throughout the competition. We are definitely looking foward to seeing you in Seattle.

Re: Central Washington Recap/Thanks

Thanks,
It was great to watch everybody improve thru the regional and we were lucky enough to be ranked first for the first time in many years. 948 and tater were amazing alliance partners and we couldn't have asked for more but things just did not go our way. We improved greatly over the past year and can't wait to do it all again
Also that was the most intense finals round I have ever seen. And feel sorry to all involved for the manner in which the results were released.

Re: Central Washington Recap/Thanks

Congratulations to everyone who played in Central Washington!!

Madison... as everyone says... long overdue.... 2 years in a row for 488
Welcome to the club!!

2046 another well deserved RCA for you guys!!!

Thank you 1425 for picking out team and for 753 for playing so well throughout the elimination rounds.

Thank you 360, 2557 and 3789 for a tremendous final...

948 and 1318 had tremendous robots/drive teams...

Thank you to everyone at Central Washington for putting on such a great regional!!!

I can't really comment about how it ended.... I don't really know how to feel about it... I hated to see our friends from other teams so upset and down...
I feel sort of numb about the whole thing...

I couldn't have asked for a better alliance. Thanks to you and 1425, my senior year ended the way I hoped it would.

I would be a lot happier about winning if the whole mix up hadn't happened... I don't like seeing that many people I know so heartbroken. I think both alliances deserved gold for that final, everyone did an amazing job.
