Would anyone be willing to get together for an EDUBot competition?

In your time between now and regionals, create yourself an EDUBot capable of something close to your original bot. Find someone in your regional to get together a mini-field and some mini-boxes and we can run mini-competitions with the tether during practice.

If I have time, I might come up with a neat new EDUBot design. It's kinda limited but it's be a lot of fun with little ankle biters running around...

Anyone else want to get some mini-bots together? We're in the pittsburgh regional but if other regionals want to get teams or fields together, that's neat too.

We were going to host an eduBot competition, but we were going to use our own game, and are looking at sometime next fall...

Team 190 is hosting the 9th annual miniFIRST Competition at WPI on December 7th (with kickoff on Novermber 12th). We haven't assembled teams yet, but out staff has started on game design.

If any teams are interested in participating, send me an email.

That'd be awesome- my crab drive edubot should be done by then.. Maybe we could do this at a offseason competition like Ramp Riot?

Does it have to be an edubot? Im an curently putting together more or less a three omni-wheeled autonomous/RC car. Its about a fot in diameter. This would be a really neet thing to d o@ the NATS.

The rules for miniFIRST have been posted at http://www.massacademy.org/minifirst/rules03.php, if anyone wants a starting point for designing their own EduRobot game.

Have you considered how you will keep the R/C transmitters from interfering with each other?

this was actually a consideration of 1089 this past year. We thought it would be cheaper to host and still have the potential of being as fun.

my only personal concern was that it would not be as high intensity, which is one of the things i love about FIRST competitions. it is all the spirit and the energy on the field.

but not to dampen anyone's spirits, i still think it's a great idea.

Re: Would anyone be willing to get together for an EDUBot competition?

for the past two year... team 79 from florida always had a mini version of their robot for FIRST at the competition (wherever they went)... that minibot is known as mini krunch. i am pretty sure they would love to do it if they are able to...
