FIRSTFare 2009 - OR and WA teams

For Oregon and Washington team members, in case you haven't heard the FIRSTFare Robotics conference is Oct 31st at Catlin Gabel school in Portland. There are 18 seminars on everything from Fundraising to Java to Pneumatics. There is no charge for this event. It's the place to be to get team members up to speed for the season.

A bucket load of information on this event can be found at http://www.oregonfirst.org/regional-event/firstfare-2009/

The Flaming Chickens are gracious hosts and we are looking forward to joining you this year at FIRST Fair. By any chance will the sessions be video archived?

Alas there are no formal plans to video tape these sessions but the Powerpoints will be posted on the www.oregonfirst.org website after the fact. If someone tapes a given session though we could post a link to it on youtube.

Re: FIRSTFare 2009 - OR and WA teams

Any rookie teams that would like to have their own workshop...(from PNW area) are also invited to a special ROOKIE WORKSHOP this weekend at our school (Aviation High School...home of the Skunkworks....) Many veteran team mentors will be giving presentations specifically tailored to new teams. We also have last year's field set up and veteran teams can come and run their robots in an informal scrimmage.

Again the date for this is October 17th, 2009.

More information can be found on the FIRST WA site...
http://www.firstwa.org/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx

or you can email or IM me...

Good luck to the Flaming Chickens and their workshop!!!

Re: FIRSTFare 2009 - OR and WA teams

Mainly of interest to Oregon and SW Washington teams, the final update for Saturday’s huge FIRST Robotics conference, FIRSTFare 2009, is now posted at http://www.oregonfirst.org/regional-...irstfare-2009/ . This will happen October 31st at Catlin Gabel School in Portland, OR. This is our biggest collection of FIRST-related seminars yet.

Download and print the seminar schedule for your reference on Saturday. The talks are all the same as the last schedule I sent but some have switched to different rooms so discard any previous copies.

Cheers,
Dale Yocum
FIRSTFare Coordinator
