Granted, you go out to stare at the stars...but the only star in the sky is the sun. You stare at it for so long you turn blind.

I wish I got an interview with Rolls Royce.

Wish granted, you got an interview with the CEO of Rolls Royce. When you get home you see a perfectly maintained, vintage Rolls Royce parked in your driveway. It must have been a gift from the CEO. Unfortunately, you are so surprised that you faint and smack your head on the pavement. When you come to, six months have passed. You find that your team, while you were in a coma, won both your regional and the championship. In addition to that, to afford your hospital care, your family was forced to sell your Rolls Royce. Oh well, at least you got to interview what's-his-face from Rolls Royce. Say, what did you two talk about again?

I wish that I could find my class ring. (lost track of it about three months ago, and I have been looking for it ever since.)

Granted, but you do not receive a whole number of wishes. You slowly drive yourself insane trying to figure out how to make 0.324 of a wish.

I wish I had two rolls of black gaffers tape, two rolls of white gaffers tape, one roll of red, one roll of blue (all 2" X 60'), one roll of bidirectional filament strapping tape (3" x 60'), and a whole lot of 7" and 14" zipties.

Granted... FIRST comes out saying that kickoff will come sooner. You are then glued to your computer eagerly awaiting kickoff. Kickoff comes Jan. 7 and you have missed Christmas and a chance to be on TV in times square demoing your robot to thousands of people in between stage performers.

I wish that I didn't have to drive 45mins to get to robotics.

You go to sleep in a car... at night... while driving on a road through steep mountains. You are critically injured, and your friends riding with you end up injured, killed, or comatose. Then your friends' families sue you for enough money to pay for 100 FIRST Robotics entry fees.

I wish I wasn't so quick to think up morbid endings to other people's wishes.
