NJ Java Presentation

Team 1279 will be presenting its findings of the Java Beta Testing on 11/14. Here is the e-mail that Senior Mentor Nate Knauss was kind enough to send to teams in our area. If you are in the neighborhood and interested in Java, come on by.

Hello All,
Team 1279, ColdFusion, will be giving a two hour presentation of the Java development environment that will be available for use during the 2010 FRC season. We are going to follow a step-by-step format that will include setting up the environment, creating a simple program, and looking at debug options. We will go over things that seemed to come up as common issues, what worked for us, and general considerations related to developing in Java. There will be time at the end for Q&A. The presentation will be from 1-3PM on 11/14/2009, and directions can be found here: <http://immaculateconception.org/immaculata/about-us/directions>

Our Agenda:
1. Getting, Installing, and Configuring NetBeans with the FRC plug-ins
2. Creating and Downloading a Simple Project
3. Porting C/C++ code to Java
4. Debugging Techniques
5. Potential Pitfalls (things that weren't bugs, but proved tricky)
6. Q&A

Please register so we know how many to plan for here <http://tinyurl.com/coldfusion-java>. If you have any questions about the event, please feel free to email Jim O'Malley at ColdFusion. He is copied at the top of the email.
