Re: You know you've overdosed on FIRST when...

When you agonize over javascript performance for a library you are working on. Did you know that javascript objects are just named associative arrays?

When you plan on doing a massive rewrite of a python script to improve performance by a couple dozen clock cycles just because you want to keep the caching time down so the regional twitter feeds can be as up to date as possible.

When you keep detailed notes about changes that need to be added to said scripts to make it better.

...90% of the topics in your recent activity feed are marked as read.

...you start recognizing spotlight quotes by the thread they are from...that happened in 2002 (this is proof I read the archives WAY too much)

...you have a half dozen or more posts in this thread.

During the WKCE (Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Exam, it's totally outdated), you jump on the opportunity to talk about FIRST.

Re: You know you've overdosed on FIRST when...

... you contemplate figuring out how to unbolt the middle seats in a van nearly as old as you so you can more easily transfer your robot from place to place. (These bolts go through the bottom of the van, and are protected from the elements by a metal plate (they go into threaded holes so at least I wouldn't have to find nuts on the underside) but would be incredibly rusted.)

(Never actually did take out the seats but it fit in with the frame about 3" from the back window glass fortunately it never hit the glass (put a blanket over it and I think it would have hit the ceiling first) or that would be bad to say the least, and my sister would have killed me...)

Seconded.

When you'll build 250 sit-skis for the team's off-season project, but you won't do your math homework

Maybe if you realize that better math leads to better sit-skis, you'll be less O.D.'d on FIRST.

...when you're doing a "label these important cities on a map of the states" assignment: "Don't know that one, not that one, wow, I'll have to look up that one, never heard of that one, or that one, I KNOW THIS ONE! *writes down Atlanta in it's rightful, honored place*
