Re: Robots Jumping Walls

How I hope this went down:

The robot gains sentience and thinks: "Ok. I'm on the bridge now... back up, hard forward to the right... here I go! Yes! I'm free Here I c--"
*robot disconnected*
FTA walks over to it, puts one leg on top of robot like this, and says "Nice try, but for now, humans rule."

And then since this is GTR-W there's also maple syrup somewhere and the drive team says "Sooory."

There is no individual achievement. There is no résumé-builder. There is no singular prize. There is only the team--a group of people who join together to create a force far greater than the sum of its parts. For them, there is only the mission.

You beat me to it. And at roughly the same time a three bot balance was going on at the other side of the field. It was hard to decide which to watch.

Re: Robots Jumping Walls

I'm surprised this hasn't happened more with the bridges right up against the wall and many teams having some sort of wedge on their bot to push the bridge down/get them over the barrier.

Re: Robots Jumping Walls

I can see how it happened this year, but last year, I was very impressed by team 115, who, at an offseason event in california managed to climb up onto the railing before being disabled

Re: Robots Jumping Walls

1756 ARGOS did something similar in the elims at Boilermaker... they managed to straddle the rail, only with the robot's down wheels being on the field side.

There is a picture of it somewhere...
