Butter Fried KK's ..

Just when you thought they couldn't be any more unhealthy ..

Quote:
Several months ago I was visiting my grandmother in Kingsport, TN and discovered the most delicious food ever! I awoke one morning and found her frying a Krispy Kreme donut. My immediate response was, "that's disgusting!" She told me to hold off until I had tasted it. She was right, it was the most delicious heart-stopping food I'd ever had. After one bite, all of the fancy desserts I'd eaten before had completely disappeared from my memory.

It is a brand.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Bell_Creameries

I was going to say, Homemade Vanilla ice cream, but didn't want to confuse anyone. It is so good, it tastes homemade.

When the team travels to Houston for Lone Star Regionals, it is a tradition to stop in Brenham, home of Blue Bell, and get an ice cream cone on the way home to Austin. We have an '04 alum that we call and say, 'we're eating ice cream!' and she knows where we are - every year.

Even I can say fried KKs rock.

Exercise is your friend Even in moderation, those things are still nothing more than simple sugars + grease. Maybe try it once, but never again.

Since donuts are fried, couldn't one call these delicious (I haven't ACTUALLY tried one but a boy can dream) concoctions refried donuts?

Re: Butter Fried KK's ..

OK, Ed's warning not withstanding, let it be known to all that after reading Jane's endorsement and Dave's reaction, I will be frying Krispy Kreme donuts for special guests (including any out-of-town visitors who may be reading this now) the evening before the FVC St. Louis Championship Tournament at Florissant Valley Community College. We may have to substitute a local brand of vanilla ice cream if Blue Bell is not available.

I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.

Re: Butter Fried KK's ..

OK, I was able to withstand the temptation for less than 18 hours. But after thinking about the subject of this thread all night and all day long, I finally had to give in. After dinner we drove over to the nearest Krispy Kreme store for some fresh-right-from-the-fryer original glazed. While there, gobble down two of the football donuts from the tailgate pack we bought, then back in the car for the hour drive back home (yeah, we drove an hour for donuts). Thirty seconds after walking in the door at the house, the butter is in the pan, the donuts are out, and the skillet is heating up. Two minutes later and the first butter-fried Krispy Kreme is cooling on a plate next to the stove, and we are already salivating (these things smell SOOOOOOO good when they are cooking!). Without going in to all the details, let us just say that the scene that followed was everything that you might imagine it would be. After the first bite, you don't care that your cholesterol level is about to spike at 500 points plus. After the second bite, you are oblivious to the fact that you have just consumed more calories than the average human takes in over an entire year. After the third bite, the crusty comestible has reduced your ability for coherent speech to the point that you have to struggle to get out the words "yuuummmmmmyyy! Me want more!" The simple truth is that these things are unbelievably good. The fact that they are possibly the worst dietary combination in the world just doesn't matter. Bring me more!!!

In that case, I think it is time for the 15 minute drive to my local KK store to get some.
