Go to Post I find this ironic. In English class our teacher's tell us how there is symbolism and such, and we don't understand it or think its there. Then FIRSTer's get a Game Hit, and we think EVERYTHING is a symbol and has some significance. - akoscielski3 [more]

Looking for a scouting database....

Posted by Anton Abaya at 2/14/2001 7:07 AM EST

Coach on team #419, Rambots, from UMass Boston / BC High and NONE AT THE MOMENT! .

Okay I know that sooo many of you people have made scouting databases that it seems we need to create a new database of the databases.

Which one has a lot of teams already? I'm curious to do some early scouting of other bots....

Any links for me?

Ask Nate, I'm sure he has something up his sleeve. Besides, don't you CS majors need to stick together?

You could say that I've got a few things up my sleeve...next time you're online, ask me for the address of the test server(it's on my computer, so it only is good as long as I'm dialed up...)

old habits die hard.

being secretive is something i am good at (with robots at least) and i am sure lots of other teams are too- and they just dont want other teams to know until it is time.

its not a question of "are you lazy" but rather "are you anxious?!"

Alan,
The reason why my team hasn't posted anything on your database is because we don't know what our robot will end up being able to do well. We want to pick up big balls and be able to balance, but we probably won't know if we'll be able to do those tasks until Feb. 20. We don't want to put any misinformation out about our team, we want to be as honest as we can. We'll put information in your database, but it'll probably be Feb 20th at the earliest. I'm not going as far to say that this is a common reason why there are so few team strategies posted on the database, but it's possible.
