Mark your calendars and set the alarms on your wrist watches!

Sometime between 11:02 and 11:33 AM (EST) on Saturday April 7th, there will
be a Boeing Delta 2 launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. You
should be able to easily see the launch from EPCOT if the skies are fairly
clear of clouds.

Spread the word and let your team members know. Talk about an engineering
feat. Launches are impressive and can be inspiring to all who see it.

Get your kids to read about the mission by going to the internet links
below.

I wonder if they'd stop competition so people can watch?? or maybe just those out on Einstein will get to see it..

either case, I hope we can be out there to see it happen

good luck all

NASA TV will Break away from the FIRST competition to cover the launch - I hope ya'll get a chance to watch. The original schedule was to launch at 8am and then go to competition coverage - but this new time
hits us just as regular competition is ending and ally picking is beginning.

Actually, the schedule has always been to launch at 11:06am EST. (alan - you are on the wrong coast! note that 11:06 EST is 8:06 PST) The launch schedule was set over a year ago, and has not changed.

FIRST has indicated that they may do two things:

1) NASA TV will break away from their coverage of the FIRST competition to cover the launch. When they do, the NASA TV broadcast of the launch will be displayed on all the large screens on each field.

2) The competition itself may be halted for five minutes to allow everyone to run outside and watch the launch, then come back in and resume play. For this to be successful, everyone will have to have a lot of discipline to move in and out of the arenas quickly, but it could work.
