Hey guys I got the Best Idea

title - inside joke

I would love to share one of my great ideas, and hope fully no one will get mad at me:

So by update 3 you can control how many points your opponent is getting which I think i very valuable, I explain:

By the new SC8 an opponet robot it "IN" the scoring zone and so are the containers its holding. now

all you have to do is make a bot with an arm the knocks ALL of the oppenetes "stacks" over then picks up a contaner and extends the arm to the height of the multiplier they would like thier oppenets to get. there for you can easily and quickly vary the multipliers your opponents get. this MAXIMISES THE SCORE!

Remember, that if the opposing team lifts it too high, it can really help your alliance. Imagine if the two alliances were doing the same thing, lifting each crate as high as 7-10 SHU's. That would be a good match.

Having you opponent's bot in your scoring zone messing around with your boxes doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Also, it will be hard for the drivers to see all the way over there, and it might be very easy to mess up and give the victory to your opponent.

When opposing robots are designed like that, it becomes a game of "chicken" where the teams compete to see who will lower the box at the last second. If you lower it too early, your opponent lowers it more, and your score is lower overall, but if you wait too long, you lose and get even fewer points.

We were talking about this idea in another thread.
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...threadid=15922

I was really hoping they would get rid of that loop hole. At least they closed up SC8 from the original rules.

Actually, nevermind that post. Go to http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...threadid=16289 to see why that idea doesn't work.

Um. Did anyone happen to notice that the negative score would hurt both teams?? winners score = winners qp + 2*losers qp. therefor if blue gets 50 points and red gets -50 then blue is actually hurt just as bad as red.

Negative scores would be bad, but the point is not to give your opponent a smaller score, it is to increase their score to just under yours so that you get more qualifying points.

negative?

How do you get a egative score. Or give your opponent an negative score. I see how to reduce their score, but you can never get a score less than 0.

Read Team update #3 to see why negative points are allowed. The scoring rules have changed. Also, I REALLY dont like this new rule, and I cannot envision FIRST keeping it.

I kinda like it.

But, that could be because I'm responsible for it - as best as I can tell, anyway.

Just a note but if your robot uses penumatics to lift the power will go off at the end of the match so any stacks you are holding would fall down. So this arm would have to powered by a motor. (unless i'm mistaken and the robots don't lose power at the end of the match, just the control system?
