Thumbs up BEstestest Idea in the world everererer 2

NOw that my control swap Idea has been shot down I have been working non-stop on an arm. I have created a pneumatic powered arm capable of picking up to 180 lbs. I plan on using it to pick up stacks as well as other robots and use the other robots to knock down their own stacks with them hahahahaha none shall stop me and my crazy ways

Yikes!

Joe...

Given yes, this is your team's site and forum, and maybe Balanor's post was a little silly, and sure maybe it doesn't belong here...

However, with all due respect, your reply did come off as pretty harsh for its purpose...

Lots of people get a little hepped up on caffine or the sort and get these little goofy ideas and jokes in their head and want to share them...I would suggest maybe being a little bit more constructive with your criticism than just all out bashing someone for trying to have a little fun.

Just my 2 cents.

Good Luck All!

We have designed and are currenty building an arm that will have the potential to knock over stacks, push boxes, make a 2 box stack, and provide traction on the HDPE and it will go under the bar. No Joke! Further testing will reveal if it can really do everything it looks like it could do.

Remember: Too much policing means oppression.
People don't like that, you see....

Being that this WAS posted in the rumor forum, and it IS a (somewhat) mature topic about a possible stategy, I don't think that it was appropriate of you to post such a restraining rejection of his creative and entertaining ideas.

And I'm sore about you deleting half of my posts because of me using words such as crack, though I will admit that it was a inappropriate....

Might I add, are there actually people who complained about (me and other's) stupid posts? Really?

My 3 cents.

Moderators make/enforce the rules and can restrain up to the point of banning a person from the forums.

On a lighter, happier note.. the "BEstestest Idea in the world everererer 2" would not comply with the rules of the game. You are not allowed to lift another robot off the playing surface in attempt to disable it from the game. (i.e. no forklifting other bots.)

And as to "FatHead547" It is physically possible to do. Strenious on any material that is doing the lifting but it's possible.

First, you posted a thread, not a forum. If you think the administration of these forums is too restrictive, privately talk to one of the admins about your qualms and work towards a resolution.

I'm glad you've chosen against posting your team number along with your handle. I wouldn't want to have a bias towards a team due to a ignorant member of a forum.

These forums have been around for years, and get new members every week. Obviously, people are happy, or at least not unhappy as a whole, on how the forums are administrated.

Playing on the Chief's Playground

No doubt that you are absolutely correct when you say this forum belongs to Chief Delphi, and its appointed moderators. As a whole, they put alot of effort into this forum. As far as I am concerned they do an excelent job of allowing you to speak your opinions, as I have done so on many occasions since this forum was created years ago. They don't oppress, they try to keep things clean and adhere to the golden rule of gracious professionalism, and there is nothing wrong with that. My only beef with the whole deal was with Joe's post. I have nothing against Joe at all, and I'm sure with the stresses of design and bulid phase, he and the rest of the Delphi crew have been quite stressed out, and maybe that is why it sounded so harsh. Belanor's post was in fact overly goofy, and sure the amounts of overly goofy posts should be cut down. I am just saying, with Joe being a role model that many of the young people in FIRST look up to, he might want to choose his wording a bit better. Of course, like I said before, this is Delphi's forum, and the members can do as they please...afterall, using this forum is a privlidge, not a right.

My appologies to the Delphi crew for sparking the opression talk, that was not my intention. Keep up the good work.

Good Luck All,
Andy Grady
