When you take the word kommen in German in the subjunctive form, it forms the word kamen. I was in the middle of class when we were copying this down from the board, and when I read it, of course what did I think of?

Your picture shows kamen in the past tense column. I believe kämen is the subjunctive.

Very true. There are three columns on that paper - regular, past, and subjunctive - but I only showed past because it is without umlauts.
