The yearly Chief Delphi Forum reminder

Iíve always used the pre-season holidays for self contemplation and reflection, sort of like doing a tune up before a race. During this time, like many holiday traditions, a few of us always try to share our beliefs on proper conduct and manners in the Chief Delphi Forum.

As one of the moderators of this forum, we have the responsibility to maintain this place and its goal to serve the community, a job I promised to give all that I can when I signed up for it, which brings me to the first two points of this reminder:

1. When you signed up for this nationally (and internationally) well-known discussion forum, you have a responsibility to all the readers out there.

&

2. Chief Delphi Forum is a place for inspiration and education.

To enjoy this forum and all it has to give to you and fellow FIRST participants, you have to contribute just like all of us. Every word you write teaches future posters how to post and how to think, whether positively or negatively. You have the responsibility to maintain the integrity and value of this place just like the rest of us do.

3. Donít be afraid to ask, donít be afraid to teach

I encourage all experienced posters to keep your patience when giving a hand. You are the only link between rookie posters and the immense wisdom and knowledge in this place. It can be strange and intimidating to a rookie member. They might not know how to use the search function properly. Be understanding and teach them how.

4. Donít mistake disagreement with insult, donít insult when you disagree.

People have different beliefs and opinions. Just because they are different doesnít mean they are wrong. Itís fine to stand your ground on certain issues, but prepare to learn new things from others. Do not waste time insulting others; it will only discredit yourself no matter how much truth you speak.

5. In order for this to work, everyone have to chip in.

The only way for CD Forum to work is if everyone focuses in the merit of the discussion and thinks before they post. If we participate in this forum as a community (as opposed to individuals against each other), we will benefit as a community.

6. Do not unto others what you would not have them do unto you.

Everyone make mistakes every once in a while. Donít jump to criticize others and tear them apart so quickly. You probably wouldíve liked the chances to learn and recover when it is your turn to make the mistake.

Thanks for putting up with these repetitive reminders. Have a wonderful Holiday season!
