EasyC for FVC & Vex

Can those who already purchased EasyC V2 for FIRST Vex use the libraries, etc. from EasyC for FRC without having to buy another license? If so, what is required? If not, why not?

We haven't tried yet. I'd ask Intelitek, and see what their answer is. I can appreciate not having to buy another license, but I also don't want to trend on their intellectual property.

Re: EasyC for FVC & Vex

EasyC for Vex was developed to be used with the Vex Robotic System and the REC Robotic Engineering Curriculum that will be released by intelitek in the coming weeks. FIRST, as a supporter of the VEX platform, recognized the value of the easyC software application and how it could be utilized for the FRC competition due to the intense programming nature of this years game. To accommodate the array of new sensors and demands by FRC teams, intelitek was required to create a more universal library. This new library is incompatible with the easyC for Vex library.

It was not our intent to place any additional financial burden on teams. In fact, intelitek believes that the VEX platform is the ideal method to prepare FRC teams with the technology and knowledge for success in competition at the FRC level. Intelitek donated one copy of easyC for FRC to each team in the 2006 FRC competition and one copy of easyC 2.0 for VEX to all registered FVC teams competing in the 2005/2006 season.

Intelitek is offering an additional incentive for those teams who have already purchased easyC 2.0 for VEX or plan to purchase it before June 30, 2006 from our online store (www.shop.intelitek.com). The value of your easyC 2.0 for Vex purchase on our online store can be applied against the cost of additional easyC for FRC licenses. To take advantage of this offer, please send an email to FRCRegistration@intelitek.com and provide us with your team number, contact information, and the CD keys for both sets of software.
