Old Games History

I have been looking for information on older FIRST games held befor 2003. I have been attending since 2000 but I wanted to show students information on the older games and how they developed and what they were about. Is there any web sites with this information, or does anybody have pictures that are posted on a web sit. Mabe posting some old ones on Delpi. I am also interested in the feild and game pieces.

Re: Old Games History

FIRSTwiki has an index of previous years' games, although some entries are missing data.

Team 237 has descriptions and diagrams of past games in the History section of their website.

The Technokats History Project also contains many documents from previous years that are well worth taking a look at.

I'm pretty sure that there are other sites with this information available, but these were the first few that came to mind. Hope this helped.

Re: Old Games History

Team 228 has info and documents about FIRST games going back to our rookie year of 1999.

The Bobcats (Team 177) also has a lot of info on FIRST games going back to 1992 on their website.

Post Re: Old Games History

Thanks for the replys. The Bob Cats have a nice history page. I am surprised that FIRST does not have a better history page. I find it interesting how the games and robots have developed. It was nice to see what was supplied with the kit, I am wondering how the prices have changed.

Re: Old Games History

The Technokats have one of the best histories of FIRST including some game documents.

Re: Old Games History

Contact Andy Grady. He has a wealth of old school FIRST knowledge. He usually hosts a great FIRST trivia game at WPI's Battlecry off-season event, and he had a nice "early days of FIRST" thread here on CD with information on the infamous "placebo" bots.

I'll agree that FIRST should pay more attention to their own history.

Smile Re: Old Games History

The links to history on the FIRST site is week and needs to be updated, it seems to be a lot of history there that people do not know about. The history tells us where we have been and where we are going. The new students do not even know about the very first few games. A artical explaining the changes and why, would be of interest and should be on a history page at FIRST.
