New York 2 Field Regional

What teams are thinking about coming? Does anyone know how many teams can register?

Team 694 will definitely be there.

Team 1155 will make sure we're there as usual. Two fields sounds really exciting!

Re: New York 2 Field Regional

do we know it there are just double the number of qualifing matches than usual (half on second field) or is it technically two different regionals at the same place/time?

Just one regional with more team capacity for 2009.
The NYC Javits Center is turning out to be a very FIRST friendly venue.

I don't know if there will be more matches for each them but that is one of the goals for the NYC FRC Planning Committee.

It will about an awesome regional for 2009!

Re: New York 2 Field Regional

I hope they can pull it off. UTC in Conn tried to pull it off last year and were short on teams.

Re: New York 2 Field Regional

I originally thought it would just be one competition with a larger capacity but:

"Two Fields at NYC Event!!! Is that possible? Very possible! Our NYC Development Committee is exploring the possibility of offering two fields at Javits this year. Yes, you read right.. This would not be one event in a double field, but two independent smaller events!!! Stand by for confirmations and further details in our next update!" (Ana Martinez)

This was in an email sent out by Ana Martinez. Does this mean there would be two winning alliances going to nationals?

Re: New York 2 Field Regional

Sounds like Toronto, which was sweet. Minnesota is having a double regional, which has two of everything, including winners.

If I'm getting this right, two fields means there is still only 1 of everything.
