Go to Post By the looks, 1114 has already figured out both #1 and #2. They're still behind 71, who is just about done with their robot for the 2012 season, is getting driver practice for 2011, and is working on their robot designs for the 2013 water game. You're still way behind. - EricH [more]

New control Board

I heard of a new control board for the 2010 year, can someone give me the link for this topic?

Re: New control Board

The Classmate doesn't have any good way for teams to wire in their own buttons/knobs/blinky lights, so this circuit provides that.

I'm not sure how much is public knowledge at this point, so I will just say that it could provide some interesting opportunities for new control strategies. If anyone does know what information has been publically released, please share!

If anyone has any speculated features / wish lists, please share those as well!

Edit:
There was some talk in this thread http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=78536

Re: New control Board

Yes, for the 2010 season we are getting a new Driver Station setup. There won't be any blue "control box" anymore, we will be running a virtual driver station on a computer. Joysticks, etc. will be hooked up to this computer. Furthermore, FIRST is giving each team a Classmate PC notebook computer to use out on the field for this purpose. So far it looks good, benefits are great.

Links/resources:
Bill's Blog, which has made the most official announcements about this. The posts about the driver station are far in between, so I'm sorry but you'll have to hunt around a little bit. The best one is the one with the picture.

Beta Test forums, which is where the beta test teams will be posting updates and answering questions. They've given out some great information already. Hot stuff.

Hope that helps! And for sure search around here too, CD is a great resource.

Re: New control Board

It's from September. http://frcdirector.blogspot.com/2009...-shipping.html

It's also discussed here: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=78321

Please note that this is a beta version and likely not the official control system. Also note that anything talking about the new control system most likely sourced from either Bill's Blog or the FRC control system forums originally. Go to the original source for information first, remember that. (Trust me, I've seen my share of what happens when people don't do that, notably with the rules when they come out.)

Paths a rules question takes:

Official: Post to Q&A-->GDC reviews-->Official answer posted on Q&A.

Unofficial: Post to CD-->CD views and comments, sometimes using The Manual and interpreting it-->Somebody goes the Official route -->Answer gets posted on CD eventually, as a quote from Q&A.

Which one takes longer for an official ruling? Therefore, which one makes more sense to use?
