Congrats Joe. You were one of the first people I talked to and eventually met in FIRST outside of my own team. I have enjoyed talking with you all those times late at night, at competitions, and having you and Amy over at the house for Cal Games in the fall of 2002. You're an awesome person, and your resume speaks for itself. I'm looking forward to seeing you again in a couple days at the Sacramento Regional. Take care, and take it easy.

I always had a great deal respect for all your FIRST knowledge. You always have the right answers for all types of technical questions, mechanical, electrical and programming. As well, you're a walking reference when it comes to FIRST history.

You deserve this so much, dude. I'm very glad to know you, much less be friends with you. Truly one of the finest examples of a FIRSTer, and a great guy.

I remember sitting in my team's pit at Nationals in 2002, furiously reprogramming the robot while listening to some music, being tapped on the shoulder by our lead mentor, and seeing you standing there. I was so sorry I couldn't talk. I wanted so much just to hang out for a bit. But over the years, we've had a few occasions to hang out, so I can't complain too much.
