With any dollar amount to invest I would be more interested in the number of individuals (students is too narrow) impacted than the number of teams created--after all, this is about people. |

There's "FIRST the organization" and then there's "FIRST the vision for the future through a set of ideals". I've grown somewhat skeptical of the former in recent years, but, after 10 years, I'd still throw myself in front of a bus for the latter. |

This place is much brighter than most institutions I have seen. It also seems to be lacking straight jackets which I think is a mistake for many of us. |

There's a stark difference between bragging and taking pride in your work. While "Ha ha! We're better than you! We won seventeen regionals and you didn't!" would clearly fall in the former, listing your achievements would definitely fall in the latter. |

If people are getting offended at seeing other teams list their accomplishments, maybe they should spend less time whining and more time doing things to make their own team win. |

What do you do after making a design public? Improve it! What do you do when you give your opponents a weapon? Come up with a better one or a way to beat it! What is Wildstang going to do, you ask? Make their drivetrains better! |

I will never forget Dean's opening lines: "I want you to know that I am here under protest. I believe that everything you are doing here is repugnant and ethically wrong. And now I am going to tell you why..." And for the next 35 minutes, that is exactly what he did. |
