This presentation introduces the concepts needed to effectively manipulate objects. It discusses various object considerations as well as various lifting techniques.

This presentation serves to introduce the concepts and techniques to effectively manipulate objects.

It presents items to consider when dealing with various objects by introducing object perspective, object reactions, acquisition zone, device alignment, and surrounding objects.

It then review the pros and cons of various lifting devices, including scissor lifts, telescopes, single jointed arm, multi-jointed arm, parallel 4-bar, uneven 4-bar, parallel multi-bars, crossed multi-bars. Finally, it considers center of gravity and system requirements.
