Field

I made this in 3d max, yes I know there are some things a little off, I still have to go back and fix a few items, but overall this is what I think the field looks like by reading the manual and layouts.

Tell me if there is anything major I need to fix

I already know to fix the railing to the sides and along the edges and to add the human player doors

Nice Job. Definitly looks good.

Only small beef is the center bar. You have it as a singline line when it is actually bigger and two bars. I don't have exact dimensions on me now but there are some somewhere.

I'd also like to bring up sharing. There are a lot of great 3D and 2D artists in these forums, thats a given just by seeing what's in the gallery and posted. Roman, that field mock-up is excellant, right down to the curvature of the boxes.

Can we get something organized to share max, inv, dwg, psd's so everyone can benifit from work done? A collaborative effort I'd say because you can't make a complete 3dsmax animation from 1 or 2 drawings someone else made, but you can save yourself a lot of time and effort. Likewise, the donator's get stuff back from other modelers, such as textures or other 3D objects of good use.

Heck, if a few teams got together they could share the max files of their robot alone and animate a mock-up game. That would be very interesting to see.

I'd like to see something along the lines of an Art Community in the forums.

I would be more than happy to share parts of anything that I might have, and tell people how to make other stuff

if the moderators could make a section for just animation ideas and sharing that could be accessible from the front page for the animation people(hint hint) it would be great

sharing, I am totaly in

and thx for the comments

Looks great.

Would you post the source file for the field?

I won't post the whole field primarily because I am a believer in "the best way to learn something is do it for yourself" but I will send anyone pices of it as well as any instructions u may need

ex. u need a container or the curved line, I will be more than glad ot send them or explain any piece of it to anyone.

As I posted in the CAD forum i'm creating a version of the container in Inventor (probably pretty high detal), so i'll be uploading it in a zip file when i'm done. I'm pretty sure there is a kid on that team that is also making the field in Inventor. If that's too big to uploading in a zip we may be able to put it on our website (if he wants to share)

I believe the bins are described as "Glacier", or a blue color, in the manual. Other than that, great diagram!!!
