the battery is for the lights in the control system it gives it a street glow effect

Yes he is right. As long as the battery is used to power something like LED's or lights to on the operator interface that will not effect the usage of the switches, the IF OI, or the joysticks, its ok to use

We had this discussion today at our shop...
