It looks to me like if there is ever a condition that causes the wheel to lock up, and the motor continues to try to turn, there is going to be a lot of axial load placed upon the motor's shaft. In my experience, these motors don't like axial load. Is there a safety feature that protects the motor in this instance, or are you planning on spinning your wheels instead of stalling them?

We used some Armoral on the AM FIRST Wheels for turning use. In the case which the robot is unable to move forward, the wheels would just spin.

There is a lot of axle load, but it equivilates to a lot of torque. If we were to use something like an IFI traction wheel, we would probably need to consider a safety option. We would also have a lot more pushing power however.
