The Beginnings of an FRC48 School Display Case

The Beginnings of an FRC48 School Display Case

Thanks to the generous "donations" from the tobacco industry to a state settlement fund intended to help build new school facilities statewide, Warren G. Harding High School, home of FRC Team 48 Delphi E.L.I.T.E., recently moved into a brand new building.

Now, from a team standpoint, this move has not been without its share of headaches (imagine trying to move 11 accumulated years of *stuff* and find places to store it over the summer), but there are some definite benefits to the new digs.

One such pleasant surprise was the school's allocation of a really freaking huge display case area in which we can display robots, trophies, and other team and FIRST media and info. What you see here is the beginnings of our display. Once the teachers and students settle in, we'll eventually add some of our older robots (I think we could fit at least six in there) and many other goodies.

Ironically, this display case resides in the *athletic* wing of the school, right next to the main gym. Quite a strategically excellent recruiting location, if you ask me. :-)

Did I hear that right? ROBOTS are going to be in your display case? That is so cool, hope the move ends well.

Yes - in the pic, you can see the beige floor space inside the display, between the shelving and the glass doors. Plenty of room.

Holy cow, look at all those judge's awards!

...Hmm. I wonder what percent are UL Safety awards...

Awesome, Elite, looking great.

Thanks to all for the kind words. I often try to downplay the quantitative measures of our team's success, but when I saw this display, the first time we've assembled our recognition in one spot like this, I felt compelled to share this, as it felt pretty neat.

6 out of 26. We hope the denominator grows at a much faster pace than the numerator.

Wow. That is awesome. Nice and big to put every trophy in there from the big ones to the small ones. And I especially love how it is by the gym. That just goes to show that robotics is a sport, we exercise the mind to extreme levels. I would love to see a picture of the show case when you guys get everything, robots included, into it. I am sure it will be awesome.

Even if we could fit our robot into our case, I don't think anyone would be impressed by the shells of robots past.

You could probably stuff a few students in there as well as a few old robots.

You know I thought about that, but then the janitors would get mad at me for letting them put fingerprints all over the glass.

you should put in some vex robots in there that can be controlled from outside the glass

(maybe the full size robots???? )
