This was definitely one of the coolest things I've experienced in a long time.
I was standing close to the pits, just hanging out until awards were over. 2-3 lines into the poem it dawned on me and I started rushing over to where the team was seated to photograph their reaction. They also realized by then what was coming. The explosion of noise and excitement from them was awesome.
I didn't walk in line with the team, because I haven't done all that much with them this year. However after everyone had walked through and were sharing joyful tears and cheers, a senior student came up and offered me his medal, saying that I had done more for the team than he had ever done. It was very touching, and it's prominently displayed in my room.

Good work. I too was surprised that you hadn't already won a Chairman's award. And if it's any consolation, I think you should have won the spirit award too.

Congrats on your Chairman's win. 88 has always been one of those teams we run into every where Rosie goes and you amaze me with your size, organization, enthusiasm, noise, (sometime TOO much noise!) and your tie dye.
Moe, I've known who you were for 8 years and I'm glad to have started to gotten to know you better these past couple.
The torch has been passed from Rosie, the 2008 Boston RCA winners to TJ^2, the 2009 Boston RCA winner. Nice job!

Does anyone have a copy of what they read when they presented the award to TJ2? I was working trying to get our robot packed up and could not hear what they read.

Ditto. I'd love to see that poem again, since I think I blanked out after I heard 'green' and knew. I would be super happy if someone has a video, too.
It surprises me that a few of you thought 88 had won before. That's quite flattering!

I was so excited when I found out that 88 won Chairman's. TJ2 is such an amazing team that more than deserves this award, it was long over due. Best of luck to you guys in Atlanta, it would be more than an honor to add you to the Hall of Fame.
