Molded Wheel MORT

In reference to CAD and molded wheels thread. Revision 2 of my earlier design. Yeah the render isn't too great =/

Blue nitrile ftw. I'm not good at drawing the actual tread pattern yet.

Don't worry about it, the render looks fine.
I really like the style of the spokes, it has a certain robustness about it, and yet is very cool looking
I'm assuming this wheel would be made with a CNC mill? And how is the tread going to be secured to the wheel?

That's what I'm trying to figure out right now actually. To me, the face seems to have too many curves for a CNC mill to handle, so next I'm going to remove the face fillets but keep the inside fillets. Its meant to be UHMW or 6061 Al if CNC milled. The tread can be screwed in or riveted.

Here's the old one. It used to be a 2" wide wheel.

It doesn't look unreasonable. It looks like it can be done with a second pass with a corner rounding mill bit.

For attaching the tread, how about splitting the wheel in two like the AM Plaction wheel?

The plaction wheels still need to have the tread riveted or screwed down or else they will slip too. You might as well just do a solid wheel that is lighter and rivet the tread. Akash I love your wheel design by the way. It should be very light and it looks cool.

Draw up the CAD and find out who in your area can help you out with machining and designing machined components.
