Rastogi Senior Project

In typical MORT tradition here's another senior project that was approved for my Senior Robotics Seminar class. A past project of another graduate can be found here http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/photos/29356

Thanks RC (1323) for all the help.

Good looking parts Akash, but what happened to avoiding CNC'd stiff?
Sorry, just had to say it. Props on the wheel design though. The look of those things impresses me every time I see it.
How much does the final product weigh?

NVM, I found the weight from one of RC's pictures. Care to explain the design in picture a little more? Are the two small holes outside of the top bearing hole on the plates for standoff's, or are they for something else?

We usually only like to avoid machining resources during build season due to our best and most convenient CNC being about half an hour away. We typically design our end effectors around manual machining and drive trains are typically CNC reliant. Usually its easier for us to pocket things or cut weight on one of our manual machines in house. Hopefully we'll be using the CNC resources available to us this year for many more things on the robot.
