Hello all- I am looking for some opinions here as Q&A takes forever. The rules for bumpers mentions that the bumper has to be supported every 8 inches. However, it doesn't specify where that support must occur. Would a bumper in the attached image (represented by the blue square) be considered legal? It is supported along its length however only at one side. (In actuality it would have additional vertical supports in the center but further apart than 8" - this is just an exaggerated "sketch")

Thanks

]Bumpers must be supported by the structure/frame of the Robot (i.e. the gap between the backing material and the frame must not be greater than ¼ in. and no section of Bumper greater than 8 in. may be unsupported). See Figure 4‑7.
The rule only talks about gaps between the backing material and the frame. It doesn't state where, vertically, that gap will be measured. As long as you're on the plywood, you'll be fine.
