Are you people CRAZY?
I am about to issue another 'I'll eat my hat if...' statements!
With all the grief Dean & Woodie & the rest of FIRST took last year for crowd's inability to determine the score, I don't think that there is ANY CHANCE that there will be more than 20 objects per team/alliance.
My main reason being that it is difficult for most folks who watch TV to COUNT to 20 yet alone determine a score with 20 balls or whatever per team ;-)
Remember, Dean has said repeatedly in public forums since the 1999 competition was over that 'A casual observer will be able to GLANCE at the field and know who is winning' (approximate wording, except that I am fairly certain that 'casual observer' and 'glance' were part of his wording).
So...
... I will eat my hat if there are more than 20 objects per alliance in the 2000 game.
There! I said it!
Any other opinions?
Do tell.

I agree with both of you... but, I've seen Joe wear a hat.
Don't you remember team 47's hats that made their heads look like demented porcupines?
It would go best with a bottle of Chiante.

Hey, if you have one to spare for another team, I'll gladly wear one! I think it would be a great fashion statement with the parrot shirts!

I agree, Joe. 20 objects would become a far more suspensful wait than that of the floppy counting process. I must say, I was on the edge of my seat everytime they were checking points for floppies, and TWENTY would be far too much. But I wouldn't want to eat my 'demented porcupine' hat, because those were quite creative. On that note, maybe we should encourage more teams to come clad in comical getup, just for laughs?
:)
What do you guys think?

I LOVED our Rumble 'getups' (as you say)!
I must admit that I liked the capes more than the spikey hats, but hey, it was the whole effect not any on e accessory.
Here's to more getups in 2000.
