View Full Version : Wire to Solenoid Breakout?
Hi,
What kind of wire is needed to connect a solenoid to the solenoid breakout on the cRIO?
It's some odd 2-pin connector..
There should have been some included in the KOP. It'd be some really thin red and black wire that looks like a PWM cable missing the signal wire.
Looks like we didn't get one.
How can we buy/obtain/make one?

On page 15 of the kit of parts checklist (http://www.usfirst.org/sites/default/files/uploadedFiles/Robotics_Programs/FRC/Game_and_Season__Info/2012_Assets/KickoffKitChecklistRev_A.pdf) you should have received 5 24" long 2-wire jumpers in the black tote. If you have lost them, you can get them from IFI (Vexrobotics) here (http://www.vexrobotics.com/276-1432.html) (this is the 12" cable - they have different lengths if you search). Also check with some local teams - they may have spares.

Also, in desperate times it is not too difficult to just trim one connection off a PWM cable using a pair of diagonal pliers (carefully). Then peel off the wire for those connectors. Use this procedure on the white wire and preserve the red/black wiring convention of the resulting 2 conductor cable.
