We are a rookie team, so we really don't know what's going on
We got the camera to display an image on the dashboard, however when we try to load in it the vision assistant, we always get a "check IP and cables" error and cant load an image.
Even with that, we have no idea how to get the rectangle tracking working...

Have you followed the instructions for setting up the camera using the "setup Axis Camera" tool included with the kop?

Ok, we found a really roundabout way to get an image into vision assistant, however we still don't know what to do with that.
I'm not sure if this is still relevant, but there is a tutorial that I recently learned about a tutorial with the Rectangle Target Processing vi in Help>>Find examples. We're still having troubles implementing it, but it's a start.

Our team of programmers, me included as the leader of that team, was completely confused when looking at that code... It made no sense to me. I'd sure like it to work though... Like copy pasta, "Hey look it works!".

Go through the LabVIEW Tutorial 8—Integrating Vision into Robot Code and you should have what you want.

Merry Christmas! (see attachments)
just drop rectangular processing into the vision OUTSIDE OF THE LOOP. Then remove the loop and connect the devRef on the left. The targets terminal on the right gives coordinates and distance. This is just the example butchered to where it can be dropped in to look for color.
