View Full Version : Who can gather AND shoot using the control system?

I've seen lots of videos of robots gathering balls without a shooter. I've seen lots of videos of shooters that are hand positioned to make a shot every time. Plenty of these shooters don't have a clear method for a gatherer to feed it. Who has a robot that can actually gather balls, position the robot using the control system, and then score? It's almost week 6, no one has time to steal your design, so please share your videos. :D

Our team today is coming really close to doing both of these. Some things need final tweaking, but yes, as of right now we can pick up balls, drive around, and shoot them into a hoop...

We can shoot and gather; we have a video of both working at same time but we didn't drive because we work out of a garage and didn't want to get tired dirty. we are rookie team 3997; check out our videos and http://www.screamingchickens.org/videos.html

TEAM 2883 F.R.E.D. (Fighting.Rednecks.Engineering and Design) can do all of the following gather, shoot and sink, tested most of the day today did not have anyone to take video. (I know gotta see it to believe) We are still working on our ramp tipper but so far we are looking alright still need to tweak some things but ran 6 batteries dead today just driving and shooting. Had some issues with carpet and turning but had it solved by mid afternoon.

1124 has a gathering/storing mechanism as well as entirely autonomous shooting. Things just need some tweaking in the coming weeks, and there are a few things that still have to be built/finished up.

We have all the apparatuses made. They just need to be mounted... Hopefully most of that is done tomorrow.

We have a frame and some mecum wheels, nothing more. Not even mounted electronics.:ahh:

Dont feel bad.

We just started mounting our elevator and welded on part of the superstructure today. So much to do so little time. :ahh:

We got it working! picks up balls, shoots them, and a couple in a dozen actually go in. Still a bit more programming to do ;)

WE DO! Our design is a belt feeding the balls into a cage and through a mechanism similar to a tennisball shooter.

We're a bit further along than this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNekKwruqEg) now.

our teams robot can gather, store, and score three balls. Now just to get it to do this autonomously...

We had to cut down our frame a bit due to weight and height, but we should be able to collect three balls, and then shoot them. We will be installing the shooter tonight, and have some funnel-plates to mount for the gatherer, but after that we should be good.

We have the entire robot assembled...had some tweaks to do on moving the robot up to the shooter. Software is currently working on the controls. Should have a good solid three day weekend of refining software and practicing driving.

All good stuff....
