How many teams are there?

People keep throwing around these numbers about how many teams are out there. I was wondering how many teams there actually are. Would someone from FIRST kindly reply?
I'm also curious how many rookie teams there are, and what the growth in number of teams is from last year. So if you don't mind answering 3 questions instead of just 1......

Stats on teams are not as good as last year.
We have no team list and what events they are going to as in the past. By Design??? Or are Threasa and Lori swamped???

Rookies...I think approx 125 teams
Last year I thought there was 60 or so.

Total teams close to 378 this year... team numbers do not tell total teams.

Growth, last year I thought there was about 246 or so.....a guess.

The persons that really know are I am sure very, very busy. Would be great if the details would be released.

The numbers on growth are just as good as last year...and the year before and the year before....a steady
40% increase in teams each year over the last 3 years.
Total teams: 378
Total rookies: 140

And yes...we are VERY busy....but not ever too busy to answer the teams questions!

PS...We used to release team lists with contact info etc...but it was abused last year...someone made a mailing list and included all team emails (whether they wanted to be on it or not)...so we have decided not to do that anymore. There will be a list, by regional, of all teams going onto the web very soon. Mark is working hard at getting that info out there. There will also be a complete team list of all teams registered, by team number and team name.
