Awesome machine.
How steep of an angle does a robot have to climb to get onto your robot?

Actually, the other robot balances on the bridge, we drive up and have a cylinder that holds the bridge so they just drive up on us without having to go up a ramp

Again you guys have created a solid, creative robot that will be formidable in competition. I can't wait until West Michigan to see this robot up close.
This year is one of the best games in encouraging different designs and strategies. Now all that's left is to see how these robots fare in competition.
Great job guys. Very innovative. Excited to play with/against this beast. Was really hoping for a giant hammer though to lower the bridge!

Another solid machine from a great team. Your video should have included more footage of all those long shots you were sinking! See you at West Michigan.
Thanks again to 2771 "Code Red" for providing us all the opportunity to practice together.

Our team is planning on scouting at gull lake, so we can see your awesome robot, your team usually has one

Very cool robot. Probably my favorite that I've seen so far.
(As a Minnesota Viking fan the blue "V" and logo just don't look right, though).

Whoever has seen the video, do you think this way to balance 3 robots is feasible in competition?

Does it actually balance? The video cuts short each time you are attempting to do it.

we only tried balancing once but we added a part to the robot to keep it from tipping if it goes to far, but we can actually push all three robots up ourselves so we can control it very well.
its da PAT!!!

I think its feasible if you can actually do it. It looks really hard to get it balanced, by shown in your video of you not quite getting it, but I assume that those were some of the first attempts. I know 1501 has the same stacking idea and they had trouble at practice this past sunday.

Do you know if there is any link to 1501, a pic or a video?

Thanks for the compliment, although honestly we are trying to make this year our comeback so I hope we can impress at Gull Lake. This time we have completed the entire robot so we can spend our 6 hours and tomorrow having the drivers practice, tuning our programming, and fixing electrical issues. Driving over basketballs is a lot easier than it initially seemed, at least there is no penalty for that unlike in 2010.

No I don't. But based on your video, theirs is extremely the same when it come to the stacking.

The ramp at Code Red Robotics, (and all others i have seen) was unweighted, so theoretically it should be easier in-match to balance than it was their.

Hmmmm I haven't heard about another team doing this, I will do some research and see if i can find out about their robot.

Here's a picture of 1501 robot. I wasn't there to see it, so I don't know if it was difficult or easy to pull off.
Side note, that bridge was weight and balanced.

Thanks for the pic, at least there is one other robot who has the same strategy as us.
Also as the member from team 2075 said the bridge at code red wasn't balanced or weighed

We also have a stacking bot. We did a 3 bot balance, Sat night, which took some practice but it's definitely doable. We have some work to do on our "seatbelt" mechanism, but it will be fun to see in action at a competition. We'll have pics and video up tomorrow or Wed.
How are others securing the top robot so it doesn't roll off or endo when balancing?

Sounds cool looking forward to the pics, it must be a viking thing to stack robots on another.

Note the small diameter, rigid wheels on 1501. For 2054, if there was some way you could put a small, rigid wheel (or some form of stabilizer under the extension) on the "loaded" end of your chassis as close to the frame perimieter as possible, that would improve your stability on the ramp. It would probably restrict you to crossing the barrier from one side of the robot only, but that shouldn't be a problem with your chassis/pneumatic tires at the other end of the bot.
Excellent robot. It was an honor to practice with you guys and Code Red last weekend.

We have actually added a piece that will support the weight when another robot is on us. So we dont tip forward

Again another year with an excellent robot from 2054. Can't wait to compete with/against you again. As far as will it work, every year that we had a robot that required another robot to drive onto us the biggest issue was another robot actually doing it. Issues like not providing enough time to make it happen/ robot faults/ alliance defense to prevent are serious issues for ramp bots to complete the action. I have no problem with our robot giving it a shot when we get to Niles.
