You may notice something a little different about our robot this year...

I've been looking forward to this bot for a long time! Unveil video soon?

Dang, that thing looks beautiful.
Really excited to see an unveil video of this bot.
Reminds me of my old neighbor. Yelling at us to stay off his lawn while shaking his fist in the air. Are you calling out the other teams as pesky little kids invading your turf?
Another slick looking machine from 33. Well done.
Is the thing in the back only for bringing down the bridge from the backside?

That jet black frame is slick Eric :)
Is anyone else a bit scared that 33 developed their robot so fast this season that they found time to powder coat?
wow!
I am never surprised with elegance of a 33 'bot. The black frame with yellow/gold underglow is sick for sure.
can't wait to see it in action.
...the things I'd do to that robot...
I'd probably examine its drivetrain, test its shooter, though I might have to take off those bumpers first. ;)

I'm scared too, looks like they also had time to makes sure their conveyor to the shooter is the appropriate bee theme hex shaped.
I can't wait for a full blown unveil video.

Wow. I can't wait to compete with/against this robot at Troy. Excellent bot this year

Ohhh my goodness.
Just when you think Bee's robots can't look any cooler...
More than anything, I'd like to know from which team the blue shirt on the girl at the very end of the group came. It looks a bit like an Xbot shirt, but I can't fathom how one might've found its way to Michigan, so it must belong someone else.

Needs more Dalek sound effects (http://youtu.be/YQLbwOGT8eM?t=2m55s).
(Actually, it bears a passing resemblance to these (http://youtu.be/oXvxKkbIwhs?t=1m44s) guys....)

With careful pausing it looks like Team 3176 Purple Precision.

It's amazing where those things end up. I know for a fact that there is a 1540 shirt floating around Michigan somewhere by virtue of the 217 shirt that's hanging in my closet. :D

This might just be a teaser, but man, between this and 118's bot, I dont know which is the best looking one I've seen yet this season.
Goals for 2013:
Time to invest in some neon/LED lights, a water jet, and more powdercoating colors!:ahh:

If (right, if ;)) this robot lives up to usual Killer Bee 33 quality, it looks as dangerous as it is on the field. The yellow underglow, the black powder coating in contrast with the honeycomb design. Seeing things like this make me a little jealous I don't live in Michigan to see monsters like this in action.
I'm definitely watching Kettering this week! Can't wait to see what The Bees are bringing to the table!

Haha, it actually has a stinger :).
I'm assuming that little guy is for touching the key.
Very Nice.
Looking forward to seeing you guys this weekend at Kettering! GREAT looking robot! Would be cool to see a repeat!

I'll second that repeat! :)
Yes, the stinger for bridge lowering, the lifting ball gatherer, may allow for some one to feed you balls by shooting top side? looks like an articulating shooter, with camera targeting with a light ring.... and was that TANK TREADS? or just a few of those pneumatic end wheels left over from last year?
Tomorrow will tell.
Once again an awesome bot.

Did I see a drifting drivetrain?
Did I see a drifting drivetrain?
Keep in mind it is slick concrete...
It is a brand new custom drivetrain for the team. It uses a lot of best practices from other years robots (ours and other designs we admire), but it is pretty unique.
Is the thing in the back only for bringing down the bridge from the backside?
Umm.. yaaaa, that's what it's there for... sure, the bridge.. yaaa. ;)

Looks like a total bEast of a drive train. I'm excited about seeing how it works for you. Little Schreiber has specific instructions to get me pictures of it. I'm sad I won't bee at the Kettering event this year.

I bet it is a downward deploying dingus that is why there is a gap in the bumper so the thing can point straight down.

Nice.
Wide bot + 33/148 style stinger = 3 bot balance in elims?
We should've prototyped that...
I really like it, can't wait to see it in action!

I am wondering what the black structure on the back of the robot, is it maybe like a mechanism like 118 for bridge balancing?
Oy, that thing looks slick. I tried to get a 2-tone powder coat this year with black and purple, but maybe this will convince the team lead for next year.

Even different than last years actuating drive train?

Ok, the stinger extends down the height of the ramp... so you don't have to cross the balance point of the ramp to level... just push down and retract.... takes all of the momentum out of the balance equation...
Even different than last years actuating drive train?
Last years drive train is still magic to me. I can't wrap my head around how or why it worked. :)

You guys continue to step up the competition... can't wait to see this thing in detail.

Really suprised we haven't seen more of these mechanism on robots this year.
Or maybe they are all hiding....

I see what you did there!
There may be more kinds hiding out there, some that provide an illusion of wisdom..
Am I the only one who picked up on a 217 and 1114 shirt in the video?

They are an elusive species that camouflages well into their environment until they are ready to strike.
Floats like a butterfly, stings like a Bee!
Something I'll have to watch for. If I was with the team and had my say, I'd post-prototype something like that and see if it's a doable modification between events. My gut would say it's rather hard to do postseason with no engineering experience.
Luckily, if it works how I think it works, you only need one per elimination alliance.

Notice how there's nobody in rainbow tie-dye running away from 33's robot. We like a challenge. ;)
This machine looks phenomenal. I honestly can't wait to watch it perform at Kettering. You guys have truly outdone yourselves yet again. Hopefully we can have a repeat of IRI 2011 at the Championships? :)

It is!!
