I think this is awesome! And the most important part of this is that it is "Robotics Education" and not specifically just FIRST, regardless of their intentions.

Without EARLY (http://earlyrobotics.org/), GEAR (http://www.gearrobotics.org/), BEST (http://www.bestinc.org/), BotBall (http://www.botball.org/), and many other smaller programs, it would be difficult to get many people involved into the FIRST brands to begin with.
